Recently CEEDI hosted the 2^nd Micro-algal Biotechnology International Seminar in SDIC’s Micro-algal R&D Center. SDIC’s management, CEEDI’s senior management, and over 100 well-known experts, scholars and senior management from the Chinese Academy of Science, domestic universities and colleges as well as the universities and enterprises in Netherland, Japan, Australia, Korea, America and India were invited to present at the seminar. 

The seminar focuses on the trend of micro-algal biotechnology development and provides a platform to discuss on the technology, engineering and industrialization in the field of micro-algal biological energy, CO₂ exhaust reducing and high value-added product. It also emphasis that more the international cooperation and renovation shall be made to study on and solve the issues rise in the industrialization of the micro-algal biological energy. 

Professor Watanabe from the University of Tsukuba, Professor Wijffels from the Wageningen Universiteit en Research centrum and Dr. Sapre, Vice President of Reliance Industries Limited made their keynote speech and other experts shared their achievements and experiences at the seminar.
