On 1^st July, 2016, the Triple Concentration Low-temperature Multi-effective Desalination (LT-MED) Technology developed by CEEDI’s Seawater Desalination Engineering and Technology Center has been appraised by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation as the scientific and technological achievements at provincial level. It is the second time CEEDI award the appraisal at this level.


The experts committee, formed by the academician, professor and senior engineer from Chinese Academy of Engineering, reviewed all technical files and listened to the introduction made by CEEDI’s project team. After acknowledging the process of desalination, the study on scale inhibitor, the structure of evaporator, and the selection, quality control and inspection of aluminum alloy heat exchange tube as well as the efficiency of domestic heat pump, the heat efficiency of the system, and the cost of construction and operation, the committee fully affirmed CEEDI’s achievements in the research and application on process, scale inhibitor, domestic steam ejector and high performance material and make the expert opinion that the process is advanced with proprietary intellectual property rights and the whole technology leads in the world. 


The appraisal symbolizes CEEDI has fully master the triple concentration LT-MED technology in the phase of research, design, construction and commissioning and realizes the domestic production of key equipments and scale inhibitor. It provides a solid technical foundation for China to construct high concentration and large scale seawater desalination project.
