China’s first Low-temperature Multi-effect Seawater Desalination Test Project utilizing hot water as thermal resource put into operation by CEEDI

date: 2016-11-17

On 29th October 2016, China’s first Low-temperature Multi-effect Seawater Desalination Test Project utilizing hot water as thermal resource put into operation in CEEDI’s Seawater Desalination Base in Caifeidian and produced qualified freshwater successfully. After installation and commissioning the facility has been in stable operation for 72 hours continuously and its output of freshwater is 500 tons/day with TDS less than 20mg/L, which satisfied the designed references.

The success of the project verifies the feasibility of the process and provides experiment data for large project at 100,000-ton level.
