CEEDI’s Applied technique of dry mechanical vacuum pump system in RH process for molten steel is listed in the National Key Energy Efficient Technology Popularization Catalog (List #5)”

date: 2013-01-11

On December 2012, the applied technique of dry mechanical vacuum pump system in molten steel RH process is listed in the National Key Energy Conservation Technology Popularization Catalog (List #5)”, issued by the National Development and Reform Commission. The technique is jointly developed by CEEDI and Chongqing Iron & Steel Group.

This is the second time for CEEDI to be listed in the catalog. CEEDI’s technology on recovery of waste heat under unsteady state and saturated-steam generation used to be listed in the National Key Energy Conservation Technology Popularization Catalog (List #4)”.

This technique has been successfully applied in Chongqing Iron & Steel Waste Heat Complex Utilization Project (Relocation for environment protection) in 2008. After completion, the system has been operating steadily and the operation cost is reduced significantly. The consumption of water and energy is 90% lower than traditional multistage steam ejector vacuum system and 9.34 kg carbon is saved for energy consumption of steel per ton.

In 2011, it was granted the First Prize of China Metallurgical Science and Technology Award that is jointly issued by the China Iron and Steel Association and the Chinese Society for Metals. In the 15th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo, it was selected to be the China Top 10 New Applied Technologies of Energy conservation. So far, this technique has been authorized two patents of invention. CEEDI was introduced in the 2012 China Independent Innovation Annual Report due to this applied technique.
