A few days ago, handover ceremony of Senegal National Grand Theater constructed and supervised by Beijing Xida Construction Supervision Co., Ltd of our institute and aided by China government was held. Vice Chairman of NPC standing committee Chen Zhenli and President of Senegal Mr. and Mrs. Vaderf attended the meeting and performed ribbon-cutting and unveiling.

National Grand Theater project of Senegal is the first landmark architecture aided by our government after diplomatic relations were re-established between China and Senegal, and it is a Grade A theatre of national level used mainly for performance of song and dance drama with auxiliary functions of movie and meeting. The theatre constitutes stage, auditorium (1800 audience seats), front hall, lounge hall, rehearsal hall, backstage dressing, and office, etc. Total floorage is 20671 square meters, and main structure includes 6 floors aboveground, and 1 floor underground, and is 30.9 meters in height, and is one of the most modernized theatres, and is a landmark architecture for cultural infrastructure in Senegal.

National Grand Theatre project of Senegal was started on 20 Dec, 2008. Xida supervision company of our institute spent over 800 days and nights, and coordinated and organized all steps of the overall construction, and controlled quality of material, equipment, and construction strictly, and accurately manage the progress and timeline, and strictly examine the construction safety and environmental protection, and overcame the unfavorable conditions of short timeline, large work amount, complicated construction etc., through joint effort with all participating parties, and obtained strong support from commerce section of embassy. This whole project was smoothly accepted by acceptance team of Department of Commerce on 21 March, 2011.

Vice Chairman - Chen Zhili delivered the "Golden Key" of the theatre to President Varde.
